Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 4 is one of those episodes that showcases the full potential of this series. It’s intense, dark, and deeply emotional, while also clearly driving the plot forward. From the very beginning, you can sense that the stakes are higher than ever before and that the events of this episode will have major consequences for the entire story.
The biggest draw here is Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), who gets a lot more screen time and makes the most of it. He’s an extremely unpredictable, brutal, and downright terrifying character. Every scene he’s in builds tension, because the viewer is never sure what’s going to happen next. In this episode, his actions take on a more personal nature, which makes the whole thing feel even more intense and engaging.

At the same time, the storyline involving Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) unfolds, as he tries to maintain control over the city in his role as mayor. The problem is that the situation is starting to slip out of his hands. Fisk, who usually plans everything and keeps everything under control, this time has to react to the chaos rather than control it. This interestingly reveals his weaker side and underscores that even he is unable to predict everything.
Daredevil’s (Charlie Cox) presence is less dominant than in other episodes, but still very significant. His decisions and actions have a real impact on the unfolding events, and the internal conflict between principles and the necessity of acting in a brutal world is becoming increasingly apparent. This adds extra depth to the story and keeps the character interesting even when he isn’t at the center of every scene.

The action scenes here are top-notch. They’re dynamic, raw, and at times truly brutal. The creators don’t tone down the violence, which makes everything feel more realistic and intense. The showdowns with Bullseye are particularly impressive. They’re fast-paced, precise, and full of tension that doesn’t let up until the very end of the episode.
The atmosphere also plays a major role. The episode is dense, dark, and at times overwhelming, which perfectly matches what’s happening on screen. You can feel that the situation is heading in a very bad direction, and the characters are facing decisions that could cost them dearly. The finale leaves the viewer with intense suspense and a distinct sense that even more serious consequences are on the horizon.
This is an episode that brilliantly combines character development with intense action and the emotional weight of the story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish and shows why this series can be so compelling.
